  • What is Avo nanoshield?
    Avo Nanoshield is a self-disinfecting antimicrobial film, made by the word leader in its product class. Avo Nanoshield has been applied to touch points and surfaces around the world. Our film uses a patented form copper with excellent antiviral to continuously keep surfaces free of viruses and bacteria.
  • Does Avo Nanoshield kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses?
    Yes. All Avo Nanoshield products are manufactured using the same patented antimicrobial agent. We have tested numerous virus and bacteria to ISO 21702 (antiviral) and ISO 22196 (antibacterial). To request specific lab reports, please contact us.
  • Is AVO NANOSHIELD effective against COVID-19?
    Yes. During tests, AVO NANOSHIELD showed a log4 (99.99%) reduction of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) within 15 minutes of contact.
  • How about mutant strains of COVID-19?
    Yes, AVO NANOSHIELD targets and damages the protective layer of both envelope and non-envelope strains of viruses. This includes mutated DNA/RNA. ​ Test results show that AVO NANOSHIELD is effective against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), two additional human coronaviruses (229E and OC-43), as well as MHV (mouse hepatitis virus). All four are beta coronaviruses. Any mutant stains of coronavirus are also inactivated by AVO NANOSHIELD in a similar time frame.
  • There are now vaccines. Why do I still need AVO NANOSHIELD?
    A vaccine increases the's body immunity against infection. The duration of the COVID-19 vaccine’s efficacy is still an open question. Having AVO NANOSHIELD work in concert with vaccines and normal disinfectants will provide you the best protection.
  • What is the difference between AVO NANOSHIELD and using alcohol-based products to disinfect surfaces?
    Alcohol-based and similar spray disinfectants only cleanse a surface of existing viruses and bacteria in that moment. Subsequently, viruses and bacteria can survive on these surfaces in between scheduled cleaning times. AVO NANOSHIELD acts as a surface that viruses and bacteria cannot survive on. Using AVO NANOSHIELD is the equivalent of spraying and wiping a surface with disinfectant every 5 to 10 minutes.
  • If surfaces are already being disinfected every 15 minutes, why should I use AVO NANOSHIELD?"
    With AVO NANOSHIELD, viruses and bacteria start being eliminated from the moment of contact. The CSIRO in Australia have observed that coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) can survive on common surfaces for up to 28 days. A combination of AVO NANOSHIELD and standard cleaning protocols can significantly reduce disease transmission in the community.
  • Is AVO NANOSHIELD harmful to the skin?
    Unlike hand sanitisers, AVO NANOSHIELD does not have any harmful effects on your skin. Our film passed ISO 10993 for skin irritation and skin sensitivity.
  • Is AVO NANOSHIELD safe for pregnant moms, children, babies and pets?"
    Yes. AVO NANOSHIELD has been rigorously tested for oral toxicity, ocular and skin irritation, mutagenicity and cytotoxicity testing. Our film is perfectly safe to touch.
  • How long does AVO NANOSHIELD last?
    If the film is unscratched, damaged or modified, AVO NANOSHIELD's self-disinfecting effect lasts up to 12 months. We suggest replacing the film every 6 months to ensure maximum efficacy.
  • Will the copper compound oxidize over time?
    Unlike traditional copper, our patented copper compound resin does not oxidize and will not discolor over time.
  • What surfaces can AVO NANOSHIELD be used on?
    We have a range of AVO NANOSHIELD products that are suitable for almost any surface that requires sanitation.
  • How strong is the adhesive of the film? Will removing it later damage the surface?
    AVO NANOSHIELD comes in two adhesive types: low and high strength. Neither will damage the surface. Low strength adhesive is recommended for glass and touch screens. High strength adhesive is recommended for all other surfaces.
  • Will the film easily stick to wooden surfaces or is there a need for additional material?
    We recommend using our high-strength acrylic adhesive (PVC range) for such surfaces.
  • Is AVO NANOSHIELD heat and weather-resistant?
    AVO NANOSHIELD can withstand boiling water for 4 minutes (100°C) with no detriment to its antiviral resin. ​ For outdoor applications, we recommend AVO NANOSHIELD All Weather, which has been weather-tested against ISO 4892-2 (light, temperature and humidity) to simulate 12 months of weather exposure.
  • Should I still clean AVO NANOSHIELD-protected surfaces?
    Keeping AVO NANOSHIELD surfaces free of dirt and grease helps preserve its antimicrobial effect. We recommend cleaning AVO NANOSHIELD with non-abrasive cloths (e.g. micro fiber) at least once daily. AVO NANOSHIELD is resistant to water-based detergents, alcohol and bleach. Avoid using abrasive cleaning utensils as they risk damaging the antiviral resin.
  • What are the sizes available?
    Sizes: Avo Nanoshield Consumables come in 4 different packages – photos of A3 Folio A4 A5 Special Products Roll Film Our PET film comes in widths of 980mm (100µm), 1,060mm (188µm) or 1,080mm (50µm). Our PVC film comes in 1,320mm width and we have a 100mm wide tape form. Customized widths can be produced (MOQ applies).

    Yes. We conducted accelerated weather testing (ISO 4892-2) AVO NANOSHIELD All Weather to determine that is UV stable for up to 12 months.
  • Is AVO NANOSHIELD available in colored film?
    At the moment, our product is only available in clear film. Custom colors may be manufactured (MOQ applies).
